A little bit about me…
I currently reside in NJ, having spent some time in the past in the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area. Whereas writing has been my hobby since I was a young kid, I’ve made my career as a Cybersecurity professional for the past 20 years. Much like the characters from the classic Robert Redford film, Sneakers, I get paid to hack in and out of companies. The stark difference being that I don’t have to worry about the FBI crashing down my door!
For the past 7 years, I’ve been practicing the gentle art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. And where my joints may argue against the “gentle” aspect of the Martial Art, I have found it to be akin to human chess…studying the Art, learning from my opponents and training partners, and making decisions that will either force me to sink or swim. Regardless of the outcome though, I find myself always learning, which is something that I’ve been fortunate enough to carry into my daily life.
I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason. I never thought for a second that I’d be doing the things I do, so for those of you out there that find yourself at a crossroad, I encourage you to embrace your fears and see what happens. I’d rather guess wrong and see what the unexpected has to offer than to take the safe route and wonder, what if.
